LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation has reached a new agreement for radio broadcast coverage of Kaua‘i sports, signing on with H. Hawai‘i Media for a two-year contract.
JAMZ 98.1 will be the new home for the KIF, as coverage is scheduled to begin with the preseason opener on Aug. 14, as Kamehameha Schools — Hawai‘i comes into Vidinha Stadium to take on defending KIF champion Kaua‘i High School.
Coverage will continue throughout the school year, running through the end of the baseball and softball seasons.
The play-by-play duties will continue to be handled by “Anahola” Joel Pahukula, who has been the KIF radio voice for the past several years.
H. Hawai‘i Media, a locally owned broadcast company based on Kaua‘i, also has additional stations on Maui and O‘ahu.
Its Kaua‘i stations include 99.9 Rooster Country and Island 98.9, in addition to JAMZ 98.1.
