Aaron Furugen (he’ll be at the Dodgeball tournament, too?) had the perfect answer for the Kona weather hots, Saturday afternoon — a nice, cold shave ice! Lots of people agreed because he was busy through the weekend at the county’s Age Group Track Meet. The question is: does using the new ionized and alkaline water make a difference in shave ice? Kenny Miyoshi of Masa’s Shave Ice uses kangen water and is available at the Monday Market at Kukui Grove Center.
Gary Furugen was helping with the Kapa‘a Jodo Mission’s annual Boys’ Day mochi sale. Any reason for being able to eat mochi is great, so mahalo to Rev. Shoryu Akiya and the temple’s members for keeping the tradition alive.
Back to cameras, Mario Perez was using a new T2 Rebel to do video of the Kaua‘i Loves You Triathlon, Saturday. Actually, that was a Canon event since all the shooters (including Jessie Castro) all used the “C” cameras to do the work. Grant Honma (he’s a full-on baseball shooter) said Costco now has the Nikon D90 and should have the 50D coming in… what about the 7D?
On the other side of the coin, was nice to run into Dr. Lloyd Fujimoto who was using the Nikon D3 at the KSA soccer games.
OK, ‘nuff said… Happy Boys’ Day, or Children’s Day, if you want to be politically correct! Time to head to the Kaua‘i County Council meeting.
