The man was crossing Hanakapi‘ai Stream when he fell and injured his shoulder.
The incident was reported to authorities at around 11:30 a.m., the release says.
Rescue specialists from the Lihu‘e fire station and Air-1 responded.
The crew picked up the injured hiker at a landing zone in Hanakapi‘ai and flew him to Princeville Airport. Awaiting medics then transported him to Mahelona Hospital for treatment.
