LIHU‘E — A 22-year-old Koloa man was in stable condition Friday afternoon after he and his motorcycle collided with a guardrail along Kaumuali‘i Highway.
At around 1:08 p.m., the motorcyclist, who was not identified, was heading east on Kaumuali‘i Highway near Knudsen Gap and Halfway Bridge between Puhi and the Tree Tunnel, lost control, crossed the center line and crashed into a guardrail on the westbound side of the highway, states a county press release.
He was not wearing a helmet.
He sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital aboard an American Medical Response ambulance, the release states.
