The Sunrise Smoothie is one yummy drink made with organic ingredients. Sunrise papayas, carrots, ginger, beets, coconut milk and bananas go inside this healthy smoothie.
Barista and smoothie artist Trish Pundsack moved to Kaua‘i about a year and a half ago. After only two days on the island the outgoing blond with the bluest eyes landed a job at the charming coffee shop.
She said she’s very social, and judging by how much she likes to talk, yes, it’s entirely believable. Trish also never lets the smile drop from her beautiful face, lending light to every single customer who walks into Java Kai.
This health nut also works as a tour guide on the South Shore. She says that whenever she’s not working, she’s outside, either hiking or hanging out at the beach. Anyone willing to take her out on a date will have to pass the great outdoors test, with merits.
Sunrise Smoothie
4 cubes of frozen organic papaya
6 ounces of carrot juice
2 ounces of beet juice
Dash of ginger juice
1 spoonful of coconut juice
2 small bananas
A healthy sense of humor
The hardest part is prepping the ingredients, such as juicing the carrots, beets and ginger, and also freezing the papayas inside ice trays. It wouldn’t hurt to freeze the bananas too, to give it a creamier texture. Throw everything inside a powerful blender and you’ve got a mighty healthy smoothie.
