Owner and Founder of Personal Financial Consultants Inc., Loren Kayfetz and wife Pat Pannell, Kilauea residents, have three goals in life — to give, to help people and to have fun. In the spirit of giving and helping people, on Thursday, as part of the 1st Quarter Membership Meeting with the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce, PFC has engaged Dr. Brad Klontz, an internationally recognized expert in financial psychology featured regularly on NBC’s Today Show and Co-author of “Mind over Money” and “Wired for Wealth” to give a keynote speech to the members of the Chamber.
PFC will be sponsoring the event and is providing a fun gift to helping local business people who wish to learn more about how money and life do collide.
“There is one thing I know for sure,” said Loren Kayfetz. “The best financial plans can fail because within each of us we have a belief about money that often defines us. In a world of material things, I have always said we must first focus on the people. All of us need to take the time to understand the behaviors and the mental thoughts behind our individual relationship with money. By asking Klontz to talk about the psychology behind our thoughts on money, hopefully each of us will instead learn how we can use our money as a tool to get us where we desire to go, no matter how much or how little we have.”
Loren Kayfetz and wife Pat are living examples of how they have used their deep knowledge and relationship with money to guide their personal goals. Pat and Loren Kayfetz love the arts. Pat Kayfetz enjoys singing and dancing and Loren Kayfetz has a passion for his flute playing. To compliment their goals of giving and having a little fun, on Sunday, in conjunction with the United Way, Personal Financial Consultants Inc. is also sponsoring “The Galliard String Quartet and Friends” to play at the St. Regis Princeville Resort for the “Quintessential Elegance: Champagne and Chamber Music for Charity event.”
The Quintessential Elegance event is designed to be a fun way for the community to support the local United Way. The event will include a night of dinner, champagne and dessert auction, followed by a concert by The Galliard String Quartet. Loren Kayfetz will play his flute during cocktails with Symphony of Kaua‘i’s finest musicians.
“Let’s me be frank here, by putting our business name all over these sponsored events it appears that the only thing we get out of them is potential new clients for PFC,” says Loren Kayfetz. “The truth of the matter is that I have been working in this business for thirty years and yes, we have a desire to continue to help people. But Pat and I are at a point in our lives where giving back is the most important. To prove it, any new client that we get from these events has 50 percent their first year fee given straight back to the United Way. Our goal in life and with PFC is to give, help and in the process have a whole lot of fun.”
Some people have asked us, why Kaua‘i United Way? The way that Pat Kayfetz and I see it, Kaua‘i United Way has their finger on the pulse of the real and current needs in Kaua‘i’s Human Services. To us, a gift to United Way — goes further in our community than the same gift to one agency.
