KALAHEO — County officials announced that improvements to the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center will soon be underway.
The project includes: expansion/resurfacing of the parking lot including the creation of new ADA compliant stalls; walkways leading to the center; as well as new lighting, a county news release says.
The expansion of the parking lot is scheduled to begin on Monday.
“Not only will the improvements to the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center enhance the programs offered at the facility, but it will also support our Park & Ride Program,” said Mayor Bernard Carvalho, Jr., adding that implementing and supporting sustainable initiatives like the Park & Ride Program is a priority for the County.
Weather permitting, the work is expected to take between four to six weeks for completion, and will have minimal impact on the center’s activities.
