LIHU‘E — Residents can still help Kaua‘i’s youth by purchasing the remaining calendars of local emergency responders through January. The calendar sales will help fund Shattered Dreams, a school-based alcohol prevention program that aims to raise awareness of the consequences of underage drinking through dramatization, a news release states.
All proceeds from the sales of the 2010 calendar featuring local fire fighters and lifeguards will help pay for training of staff and volunteers of the Shattered Dreams underage drinking prevention program on Kaua‘i.
The cost per calendar is $20.
The calendar is a joint effort between several organizations including: the Hawai’i Fire Fighters Association – Kaua’i Division; Hawai’i Partnership to Prevent Underage Drinking; Na Lei Wili Area Health Education Center (AHEC); and the County’s Anti-Drug Program office.
