NAWILIWILI — Trinette Kaui of A&B Properties was announced as Realtor of the Year and Kelly Liberatore was installed as the 2010 president, Friday.
Quality was the key to the Kaua‘i Board of Realtors craft fair at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort and Beach Club.
Karen Ono, executive director of the KBR, said the craft fair was just one of three phases of the day-long gathering.
“We have a leadership seminar, the craft fair, and the General Membership luncheon where the Kaua‘i Realtor of the Year will be announced,” Ono said. “There’re three different events and just two of us. It’s been hectic.”
Among the vendors gathered in the resort’s Salon 1 of the ballrooms, Ono said there were vendors offering programs relevant to realtors such as banks, mortgage companies, service vendors such as FM97 and Hawai‘i Stream Media which were both doing live broadcasts from the ballroom where realtors browsed through the offerings between seminars.
Other service vendors included Avery Kano of Pua Lei, a full service florist from Kapa‘a who was sharing a table with Kim Date of the Buddha Boutique located next to the Aloha Furniture Warehouse in Lihu‘e.
Finally, Ono said there are realtors who are crafters such as Virginia McVay who said she’s been doing a little bit of everything for a while.
“The key to this craft fair is high quality,” Ono said.
Sprinkled between the vendors were children who took advantage of a no-school Friday to accompany their parents to the event. Angela Liberato and Asia Boiser-Nakazawa lost little time picking up a free canvas tote bag and sifting through the field in search of giveaways to fill the bag.
“This is a pretty good event,” Ono said. “We have about 200 KBR members here, today. All of this helps them in their business.”
