LIHU‘E — On Friday afternoon, a few hours after pictures and a video were posted on The Garden Island Web site, a suspect was identified in a theft case at Koloa Big Save, county officials said.
The suspect was identified prior to the placement of the picture and video, said Kaua‘i Police Department Assistant Chief Roy Asher, in the Investigative Service Bureau.
The suspect, who was not identified by name, chose not to make a statement to police, and has retained an attorney, said Asher, adding that the suspect’s family has asked the video be removed from the county Web site, where it was initially posted last week.
