Thelma N. Meserve died Oct. 4, 2009, at Hale Kupuna in ‘Oma‘o at age 96. Born on May 11, 1913, in Waimea, she was a retired cook.
She is survived by her caregiver Junko Gill of Waimea and nieces.
Private services will be held.

Kerry Louis Oatis of Lihu‘e died Sept. 24, 2009, at Straub Clinic and Hospital at age 49. Born on Aug. 15, 1960, in California, he was employed by Pizza Hut Delivery and an Independent Process Server.
He is survived by his wife Lisa (Santos) Oatis of Lihu‘e; father Robert Oatis of Texas; mother Inez Oatis of California; brothers Fitzgerald Oatis of California, Jerrold Oatis of Louisiana, Gerry Oatis of California and sister Tonja Oatis of California.
Visitation at 5 p.m., service at 6 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcome.

Adam C. Rapozo of Makaweli died Oct. 4, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 84. Born on Nov. 29, 1924, in Makaweli, he was a supervisor with Gay & Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Rapozo Sr. and Marianna; wife Katherine Rapozo; daughters Paulette and Penny; brothers Frank, John Jr., George and Joseph; sisters Margret Cremer, Marion Skivington and Lillian Kouchi.
He is survived by his sons Douglas Rapozo of Kekaha and Clyde (Naomi) Rapozo of Hanapepe; daughters Geraldine (Bob) Boehme of Michigan, Darlene Rapozo of Big Island, Tammy (Trent) Nakayema of Port Allen and Gail (Paul) Rapozo of Pakala; sister Betty Woodward of Texas; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 9 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Waimea Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Kekaha Cemetery. Aloha attire is suggested and flowers are welcome.

Gerald ‘Jerry’ Ibsen
Gerald “Jerry” Ibsen of Wailua Homesteads died Sept. 13, 2009, at Providence Medical Center in Everett, Wash. at age 72. Born on March 11, 1937, in Washington, he was a semi-retired electrical contractor and owner of A&I, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his father Christian W. Ibsen.
He is survived by his mother Jennie Ibsen of Everett, Wash.; wife Louise Ibsen of Wailua Homesteads; sons Ken (Anna) Ibsen of San Lorenzo, Calif., Dean Ibsen of Washington and David Rosel Ibsen of Wailua Homesteads; stepchildren Barbara (John) Montemayor of Kapa‘a and James (Jannai) Harper of Makaweli; brother Lee (Mary) Ibsen of Sarasota, Fla.; sister Barbara Morgan of Stanwood, Wash.; five grandsons and one great-grandson.
A celebration of his life was held in Standwood, Wash. on Sept. 19, 2009.
A celebration of his life on Kaua‘i will be on a later date.
Alexander Kelekoma Sr.
Alexander “Alika” Manoiki Kelekoma Sr. of Lihu‘e died Sept. 30, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 72. Born on July 21, 1937, in Hanama‘ulu, he serviced heavy equipment for Grove Farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Luella Kelekoma, daughter Luella Eino and brother Franklin Lono.
He is survived by his wife Tomie Kelekoma; sons Alexander (Becky) Kelekoma Jr., Bryan (Jocelyn) Kelekoma, Kevin (Linda) Kelekoma, Kelly (Cindy) Kelekoma, Kyle (Jonalen) Kelekoma; daughters Alicia Ann Kelekoma, Lori Ann (Robin) Troche, Jolynn (Benny) Galiza, Kuulei Kelekoma-Cardinez, Karla (Francis) Shimabukuro, Kim (Philip) Banquel; brothers Clay (Leonora) Kelekoma Sr., Ainsley (Linda) Kelekoma, David (Christine) Kelekoma; sisters Luella (Gilbert) Moniz, Darlene (Al) Oshiro; 33 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lihu‘e. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens. Casual and aloha attire is requested.
