Ralph Suniga said he’ll probably do the broadcasting for the 5:30 p.m. game at Vidinha Stadium. At last count, Tina said there are about 60 kids playing in the league.
Shelly Gerardo was at the KIF football game Friday night and said Jocelyn Barriga just released the Cop on Top totals that came to $17,245.14. She was thrilled and proud of the generosity of the Kaua‘i people that came through to make the Special Olympic Kaua‘i program possible for all of the athletes on the island. She said people can still contribute by visiting www.firstgiving.com/copontopkauai.
Dick Holtzman was also at the game, and his smile was just as bright and big as when Kukui‘ula Shopping Village celebrated its blessing. But the best was Jane Garma who came off the field at the 0-0 halftime shaking her head and repeating “Do you believe this?”
OK, time to roll out to AYF football and check out KIF volleyball.
