LIHU‘E — County Department of Water officials announced that a section of Pua Loke Street, between Haleko Road and Kaumuali‘i Highway, will be closed from 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
Only local traffic for businesses in the area will be allowed, a county news release states.
The road will be closed because the water department will be hosting its sixth annual Make a Splash Water Festival at the Pua Loke Arboretum for fifth-grade students from around the island.
The Department of Water will have limited customer services available while the festival is in progress. Drop-off water bill payments will be accepted throughout the day, but the water resources and planning division will not be processing water permits until after the event.
