PUHI — County officials announced that the Puhi Metals Recycling Center will be closed on Friday and Saturday, and will reopen on Monday, a county press release states.
During the closure, the operator of the facility will be hauling large amounts of scrap metal that will be shipped to O‘ahu for recycling.
The hauling operation will begin at around 7 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and will run until 11 p.m. on both nights. On Sunday, hauling will begin at 7 a.m. and is expected to end at 6 p.m.
The route that will be used includes the following streets: Puhi Road; Kaneka Street; Nuhou Road; Pikake Street; and Nawiliwili Road.
Normal operating hours for PMRC are Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
