Kaua‘i Mayor Bernard Carvalho will roll the first ball, Aug. 15.
That is the date the Kaua‘i Board of Realtors will host its Bowling Bonanza at the Lihu‘e Bowling Center starting at 6 p.m.
Toni Souza-Ishimoto, director of member services for the KBR, said there is still room for people wishing to bowl in the event that is described as a “fun night” by KBR director Karen Ono.
Although most of the lanes have been spoken for, Souza-Ishimoto said people can still register for either individual slots, or a six-man team. Lane sponsorships are also available.
The reason for the bonanza is to raise funds for the KBR scholarship fund, and this year, Souza-Ishimoto said plans are to raise an additional $5,000 over the normal $6,000 goal.
The public is invited to join the fun Aug. 15 where, in addition to bowling, there will be a silent auction featuring contributions from local organizations and businesses.
“We’re still looking for donations for the silent auction,” Souza-Ishimoto said. “If people want to contribute something, they can call us.”
