Scholarships
Rotary Club of Po‘ipu
Past president of Rotary Club of Po‘ipu, Bob Bartolo, introduced two of the three Koloa Elementary School families receiving scholarships for their record of parental encouragement and student performance. This is an unusual scholarship that engages first graders and their families in their pursuit of higher education. Rune and Torres were selected when they were first graders at Koloa School with hopes and a promise to fulfill all requirements. Rotary Club of Po‘ipu followed Fune and Torres throughout their academic careers with ongoing interviews and reports after each year. When they succeeded at fulfilling all requirements each was awarded a monetary scholarship upon graduation from high school.

Parents and guardians, it’s important to be an active part of your teen’s high school years. High school is a time of change. It offers students great opportunities and more choices. In the beginning, it can also be stressful.
Help make the transition to high school less challenging. Come to a ninth grade orientation meeting at the school cafeteria. This will be an informal meeting, a perfect time to interact with members of the school community, ask questions and gather helpful information to help your teen prepare for life at Kaua‘i High School before school begins. Light refreshments will be served and door prizes to help get ready for the new school year.
Call the Parent-Community Networking Center on campus at 274-3176 with questions or concerns.
