LIHU‘E — When you walk into any county office, you can now rate the service you receive by filling out a customer service survey card, a county press release states.
The card represents the next step in the county’s efforts to improve its customer service to the public.
In late spring, more than 300 county employees took an introductory course in customer service, followed by more in-depth training for 47 management and supervisory personnel.
The training sessions were conducted in partnership with Kaua’i Community College.
“I encourage the public to fill out the survey cards, and return them to my office so we can get more information on what we’re doing well and where we can improve,” said Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. in the release.
Noting that delivering excellent customer service is a priority for his administration, the mayor said, “I think it’s important that our one-on-one interactions with the public are positive and productive.”
The customer service survey cards are designed to make it easier for the public to provide feedback on county services and facilities.
Future training is also planned for the county’s front-line personnel in order to continue to provide them with the proper tools to serve the public.
