The Kaua’i Academy of Creative Arts is a non-profit organization operating a summer school in the arts for the youth of Kaua’i. Their mission is the encouragement and growth of arts appreciation and artistic development for children. Talented, creative, professional artists and educators are recruited for their annual six-week program.
Students choose their own course of study from a large selection of dance, theater, music and visual arts classes. This allows them to try many art disciplines in a fun, supportive atmosphere.

July 25
WIN is supplying the children of Kaua‘i with “back to school” back packs. What makes this special is that these children’s parents are incarcerated. WIN is a non-profit organization serving the State of Hawai‘i since 1996. The Back to School program provides students with school supplies. Many times these children are being cared for by a family member and the funds are not available to provide what they need to head back to school. From 9 a.m. to noon July 25 at WIN’s office, Harbor Mall Suite 213 WIN will hand out back packs to boys and girls.
For more information call Kimberly Cummings, 245-1996.

6 p.m. July 27
Kaua‘i High School
Parents and guardians, it’s important to be an active part of your teen’s high school years. High school is a time of change. It offers students great opportunities and more choices. In the beginning, it can also be stressful.
Help make the transition to high school less challenging. Come to a ninth grade orientation meeting at the school cafeteria. This will be an informal meeting, a perfect time to interact with members of the school community, ask questions and gather helpful information to help your teen prepare for life at Kaua‘i High School before school begins. Light refreshments will be served and door prizes to help get ready for the new school year.
Call the Parent-Community Networking Center on campus at 274-3176 with questions or concerns.
