The G-Unit B team, forfeiting its match to Kalepa Hillsiders, will be pitted against the G-Unit A squad for the championship of the Boys 14 and Under division, Tuesday night at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center.
That match will start at 7 p.m., said Karen Matsumoto of the Kaua‘i Youth Basketball Association.
At 6 p.m., Hanakila, playing on its home court, will be matched up against the Kalepa Hillsiders in a battle for third place in the BU14 division.
Those match-ups followed the playoff games, Saturday, at the Bernice Hundley Gym in Kapa‘a where the Kalepa Hillsiders advanced with a 2-0 forfeit win over G-Unit B.
Colby Baliaris finished with 15 points and James Stevens added eight points to lead the Hanakila 52-18 showing over the G-Unit A. Chester Dikilato paced the G-Unit A showing with eight points followed by Wheeler Batol and Tyler Fernandez each netting five points.
Jennifer Grady’s dozen points was joined by Cheyanne Duarte’s eight points in leading Kaulupono to a 36-26 win over Waimea at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
That win clinched third place in the Girls Under 14 division for Kaulupono who will be squaring off against a Bellingham, Wash., team in a goodwill tournament before heading to O‘ahu for a tournament, Tuesday.
Paige Connelly finished with a game-high 16 points followed by Bristy Ann Agu adding nine points for Waimea.
Jayme Jacinto lit up the scoreboards with a game-high 13 points to lead Waimea to a 42-33 win over Kaulupono in one of two Girls Under 17 games.
Jacinto was followed by Searra Kaohi and Brandee Victorino each netting eight points.
Aiko Grande and Kathleen Cadiente paced the Kaulupono effort with seven and six points, respectively.
In the final GU17 match, the Gee’s Angels edged the Kapa‘a Titaz 31-28 at the Bernice Hundley Gym. No scoring information was available.
