Speaking of fuel, Lenore Klass and Roy Yamakawa are already talking up the taro and poi thingies for the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau Fair (hope there’s no football)…too much food to try.
Bob Klass (snickerdoodle is his favorite) says he only eats Lenore cookies, and all of this started when Laurel Lemons started talking about that Kilauea church craft fair where they have a killer oatmeal cookie. And since Ellen Edmands moved to New York (aloha to all you New Yorkers, especially Blake Jones!), there’s no more Princeville cookies.
OK, time to find a reason to visit Lappert’s for those oatmeal cookies and a Coke float to beat the summer heat…are you listening, Kori Sakamoto?
Kori was helping referee the Kaulupono league (Michelle Lemy said Team Central is having a tournament right after Fourth of July at Island School) with Steven Carvalho…Nicole Palacio was hurting since she had a slide on the floor, and her team mate was all wet when the ice bag broke.
And it was a pleasant surprise to run into coach Mits Yokotake and Rich Colipano (the little Colipano plays on Team Central along with the big Matthew Cummings).
