LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. and his administrative assistant, Gary Heu, announced the 16 outstanding employees from the various departments within the county workforce, Thursday.
The employees will be honored during a get-together Tuesday at the War Memorial Convention Hall along with other employees being honored for Years of Service and those who retired in 2008.
Kent Hirokawa of the Economic Development office, Vaughn Parongao of the Finance Department, Gerald Hurd and Sean Smith of the Fire Department, Sandy Ka‘auwai of the Housing Agency, Theresa Koki of the Mayor’s Office, Domingo Acupan and Donovan Travaso of the Parks and Recreation Department, Dale Cua Jr. of the Planning Department, Estelle Furuike and Len Nitta of the Police Department, Cyndie Johnson of the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Robert Fujimoto and Sammie Wunschel of the Public Works Department, James Pursell of the Transportation Department and Keith Fujimoto of the Department of Water were announced as this year’s outstanding employees.
