KALAHEO — Tiana Apilado finished with a game-high 14 points and Alyssa Pigao added 10 points to lead Westside Basketball to a 28-12 showing over the Kaulupono Girls, Monday night at the county’s 11 and Under basketball program at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Melia Okura, coming off a night of walking at the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Saturday, paced the Kaulupono effort with four points in the single girls’ match.
Curren Dillberg, the playmaker for Papalina, finished with 15 points along with
six points from low post Nate Herbig to lead Papalina to a 35-18 win over the G-Unit.
The G Unit came into the contest scrapping, hustling for any chance to force a Papalina turnover, but
Curren Dillberg, whose brother Asher also wears
the Papalina blue, kept a step ahead of the G Unit force that got nine points from Michael Booth in the effort.
Keaui Colipano, whose brother Kekoa turned in a solid showing in Saturday night’s Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation boys
volleyball game, joined Matthew Cummings with 18 points each to lead
Team Central 2 to a 62-8
win over Team Central 1 in the final of two boys’ matches.
Travis Ornellas netted four points to lead the Team Central 1 effort.
Games in the county’s 11 and Under program continues Thursday with three games on tap.
Kaulupono will take on the Lihu‘e Girls in a single girls’ match starting at 6 p.m. Papalina will take on the Westside Basketball starting at 7 p.m. in the first of two boys’ games, and the G-Unit will take on Team Central 2 in the finale starting at 8 p.m.
