Nicholas Rapozo
Nicholas “Nick” Rapozo of Kilauea died April 25, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 91. Born Dec. 6, 1917, in Kilauea, he retired as senior accountant from Kilauea Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by brothers Joseph (Mary A.), Eddie, Raymond and Frank Jr.; and sister Mary “Girlie”.
He is survived by wife Ellen; son Paul of Pasadena, Calif.; daughters Judith and Dale of Kilauea; sisters-in-law Mary R. Rapozo of Wailua and Emily Rapozo of Kapahi; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation 9-9:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, at St. Sylvester’s Church in Kilauea; Mass at 10 a.m.
Burial at 11:45 a.m. at Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Charles A. Campillo died April 26, 2009, at home in Kaua‘i. Born in San Francisco, Calif., he worked with United Parcel Service.
He was preceded in death by parents John and Mary Campillo.
He is survived by wife Marilyn J. Campillo; sons John (Patricia) Campillo, Matthew (Melanie Campillo) and David (Margaret) Campillo; daughter Marie (Robert) Barker; 13 grandchildren; sisters Mary, Juanita, Nancy; half-sister Lupe; and brother Robert.
Services will be private.

Mary McFarland of ‘Ele‘ele died April 23, 2009, at home at age 60. Born Oct. 26, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, she was employed by the Salvation Army as manager of the Kouka soup kitchen in Lihu‘e.
She is survived by mother Beverly Glade; brothers Richard and Daniel, both of Des Moines, Iowa; sister Babbit Brownly of Des Moines, Iowa; husband M.C. “Bud” McFarland of ‘Ele‘ele; stepchildren Lorrie and Vickey of Iowa, Debra of Indiana, Tim of Texas and Rick of Kaua‘i; 14 step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
Memorial service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, at St. Johns Episcopal Church in ‘Ele‘ele. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
Casual attire is suggested.
Family requests no flowers. Gifts may be made to St. Johns lawn and garden fund.

William Kamahiai K.C. Ching Jr. of Hanapepe died April 24, 2009, at home at age 61. Born Jan. 19, 1948, in Hanapepe, he was a retired Lieutenant with Kaua‘i Police Department.
He was preceded in death by father William K.C. Ching Sr.
He is survived by son Josiah Kawohikukahi Ching of Missoula, Mont.; daughter Kapiolani Nisha Ching of Honolulu; mother Mercedes K. Ching of Hanapepe; sister Gwendolyn “Nani” Hill (Gerald) of Koloa; niece Cameo Hill; and nephew Michael Hill.
Visitation 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, at Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church; service 10:30 a.m. officiated by Kahu Rachel Schwab.

Dominador Ines Agayan of Kapa‘a died April 24, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 102. Born Sept. 29, 1906, in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was retired from Wailua Golf Course as a groundskeeper.
He is survived by wife Rosalinda “Sally” Agayan of Kapa‘a; son Carl “Kalani” (Melanie) Agayan of Kapa‘a; daughters Emma (Henry) Peralta of Makakilo, Ruby A. (David) Atkins of Wirtz, Va., Caroline (Henry) Saronitman of Lihu‘e, Barbara Ann (Jr.) Corpuz of Hanama‘ulu, Mae Jeanne (Arnel) Bueno of ‘Ele‘ele; sister Juniana Manundo of the Philippines; 32 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rose Napuananiakealoha Kanahele of Anahola died April 23, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 65. Born Nov. 21, 1943, in Pu‘uwai, Ni‘ihau, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Iubile Kanahele, Sr.
She is survived by sons Iubile K. Kanahele, Jr. (Charla) of Oklahoma, Herman Kanahele of Seattle, Wash., Wayne Kanahele (Nancy) of Nanakuli and Elvis Kanahele (Melody) of Hanapepe; daughters Wanda Kanahele of Oregon, Linda Kanahele of Kapa‘a, Denise Kanahele (Steven) of Kekaha, Rose Palakiko (Daniel Jr.) of Anahola and Bettylou Pahulehua (Junior) of Kekaha; 35 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Michael Kaiwi (Louis) of Anahola, Ben Kaiwi of Honolulu, George Kaiwi of Kwajilein Island and Eugene Kaiwi of Anahola; sisters Emalia Kanahele of Kekaha, Isabella Matayoshi of Anahola, Salala Kaiwi of Kekaha and Myra Silva of Anahola; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert “Robbie” Lear of Kapa‘a died April 18, 2009, at home at age 84. Born April 15, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a retired real estate broker with Kauai real estate companies.

Valentine “Babe” “Papa” Adric Jr. died March 29, 2009, at age 58. Born Sept. 2, 1950, in Honolulu, he retired as a telephone splicer with Hawaiian Telephone Company.
He was preceded in death by parents Valentine “Empa” Adric and Amy Lou “Emma” Adric, sister Naomi Akiu of Hilo and granddaughter Hi‘ilei Hooikaika of Anahola.
