KMXA holds first event of the year
The Kaua‘i Motocross Association is holding its first motorcycle dirt bike, ATV and mountain bike event. The Garden Isle Hare & Hound, Poker Run will be held this Saturday in ‘Oma‘o just west of the Kahili Mountain Park entrance.
The Hare & Hound race is a trail competition where a dirt bike rider will race through mountain trails lined by colored flags. The race is usually about 30 to 40 miles of rugged terrain, cliffs, river and stream crossings, hill climbs and open field.
The Poker Run is a trail ride for anyone from beginners to the most experience riders. This is usually about 10 to 15 miles of easy trails (different from Hare & Hound) that even keiki’s can enjoy.
Gates open at 7 a.m. and registration is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30am.
All riders must have proper riding gear to be allowed to ride in this event.
Pre-register ends today. Entry forms are at motorcycle shops around Kaua‘i.
