All three of Kaua‘i’s public high school girls softball teams will be in action starting Thursday at the Waimea High School Softball Invitational at the Waimea Canyon Park.
Kapa‘a opens the action with an 11:30 meeting against Punahou followed by Kaua‘i taking on Mililani starting at 1:30 p.m.
Waimea will meet Mid-Pacific in a 2:30 p.m. game.
Pool play for the tournament takes place Thursday and Friday with 10 participating teams split into two pools: five teams in each pool. Games will be played on two fields at the Waimea Canyon Park.
Friday afternoon, seedings will be determined on a win-loss record in pool play and seeded play starts Saturday morning from 8 a.m.
The tournament championship is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. Semifinals will start at 1 p.m.
Participating teams in the White Pool include Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i, Sacred Hearts, Mililani and Punahou.
Waimea, ‘Iolani, Pac-5, Mid-Pacific and Leilehua form the Blue Pool.
First games on both Thursday and Friday start at 10 a.m. and the public is invited to view the competition for free.
