Seth Morales and Ian Ruiz had a great day in Waimea Saturday.
The Garden Isle R/C Racing organization, lying low for a while, came to the surface at the Waimea Town Celebration where spectators could engage some of the racers in questions about radio remote-controlled racing during the day-long event.
Morales dominated the 4wd nitro sedan A class throughout the day, finishing with first place honors and getting the Top Qualifier nod.
Similarly, Ruiz stayed at the top of the 4wd nitro sedan B Class and finished with top honors.
Following Morales, Aaron Arizo and Roland Ruiz finished in the second and third berths of the A class.
Bongie Gorospe and Dimi Rivera filled in the second and third slots of the B class.
Bart Ovales finished tops in the 4wd nitro sedan C class followed by Julius Ceasar and Randy Alcantara.
According to Arnold Morales of the Garden Isle R/C racing association, the group is praying for fair weather March 8 so racing can resume in the back parking lot of the Big Kmart store.
Races start at 11 a.m. and there is no admission to view the competition.
