The Rotary Club of Poipu Beach is proud to present more than twenty-five outstanding wines not usually available on Kaua‘i. Wine connoisseurs may browse along numerous wine stations seeking delights and new experiences as they partake of pupus prepared by at least ten of Kauai’s great chefs. Pupus are served until 7pm while the wide assortment of special wines are continuously offered until 9pm. Fine wines should always be provided to the accompaniment of fine music for dancing which also fills the air until 9pm. A silent auction will be held from the beginning of the event. Staggered auctions closings will be provided for both early-bird buyers as well as late evening bargain hunters. A specialty of this auction will be an enormous jewelry section requiring more than thirty feet of display space alone.
• Tickets are $50 presale and $60 at the door. All proceeds are directed to scholarships for Kauai students. The Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce announces its Winter 2009 Series: “Tips for Surviving Economic Times on Kauai” as part of its continuing commitment in supporting businesses during this down economy. Launched at the chamber’s Annual General Membership meeting in December, the series continues with 3 additional panel sessions during January and February that will highlight Kaua‘i businesses from various industry sectors to discuss what each business is doing to survive and adjust in this current economic cycle.

CCIM introduction to commercial investment real estate course
Feb. 26 – 27 at University of Phoenix in Honolulu
An intensive, two-day course designed to introduce real estate professionals to the fundamentals of commercial real estate will be offered by the CCIM Institute. The course will be held at the University of Phoenix, 745 Fort Street, Plaza RM 101/102, Honolulu, HI. Students who successfully complete the course will earn 6 hours of Continuing Education toward the State of Hawaii broker/sales license renewal for 2009. The course is taught by experienced Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIMs). Tuition for non-members of CCIM Institute is $375.
