HANAMA‘ULU — A 17-year-old male juvenile was airlifted to the Queen’s Medical Center on O‘ahu yesterday afternoon after sustaining serious injuries in a motorcycle crash, a county news release states.
The Hanama‘ulu resident was riding a Yamaha dirt bike on Hanama‘ulu Road in the vicinity of the Ohia Road junction at around 2:55 p.m. when he lost control and struck a hollow tile wall.
He was transported to Wilcox Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Queen’s for further treatment.
He was not wearing a helmet.
According to police, speed appears to be a factor in this crash.
