His non-profit foundation has been supporting conservation programs since 1993.
He is a leading advocate for marine resource conservation, an accomplished painter, sculptor, photographer and writer.
Wyland is known for his whaling wall mural project of more than ninety-one life size marine life murals that span 12 countries and four continents.
He efforts have been recognized by the United Nations, Sierra Club and the Underwater Academy of Arts and Sciences, where he is listed among its Diving Hall of Fame.
USA Today hails the artist as a “marine Michelangelo.” He has hosted several series for television, including, “Wyland’s Ocean World” on the Discovery Channel’s Animal Planet.
