George Fernandez
George William Fernandez died on Nov. 22, 2008, at the Hospice Hawaii, Kailua, at 71.
Born on March 13, 1937, in Paia, Maui he was retired from the County of Kaua‘i.
Preceded in death by parents George William Fernandez and Rose Fernandez of Kahalui, Maui.
Survived by wife Lynette Haulani Fernandez of Anahola; sons George “Keoki” (Jennifer) William Fernandez Jr. of Barberton, Ohio, Chono (Tammy) Edward Fernandez of Anahola; daughters Melissa Kaleihauoli Apo of Wailua, Minette Kuupoli (Jeff) Fernandez-Cabral Kanaohe; sisters, Rose Marie Shook, Celestine McAllip, Bernadette Talley all of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, with visitation from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Dec. 1 at St. Catherine’s Church. Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at Kaua‘i Veteran’s Cemetery.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home is assisting the Fernandez family with arrangements.
