Mayor-elect Bernard Carvalho Jr. announced yesterday that he is accepting applications for the positions of county attorney and county engineer.
“These two positions will be critical to the success of my administration,” he said in a statement. “There may be qualified candidates out there that could be considered for these positions and I invite those applications.”
Other cabinet appointments are in the process of being completed, a news release states.
Carvalho thanked current County Attorney Matthew Pyun and County Engineer Donald Fujimoto for their service.
“They have both done an admirable job and have contributed to the success of the county,” Carvalho said in a statement. “At this time, however, I feel that these two positions must be completely aligned with my vision and goals and I have not yet identified the appropriate candidate.”
The mayor-elect is expected to make an announcement on all appointed cabinet positions early next week.
