Teen suicide forum tonight in Anahola

A community forum on teen suicide will be held tonight at the Anahola Clubhouse. The theme of the event is “Hope, Health and Healing.”

Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., courtesy of Queen Liliuokalani Children’s Center, and the forum will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

“We want to reach out to the community on the subject of suicide and let them know what kinds of resources are available on Kaua‘i,” said Gina Kaulukukui of Life’s Bridges Hawai‘i, Inc., noting the event is a collaborative effort.

The event is sponsored by a number of local agencies including: Hale Kipa; Kapa‘a High School Parent Teacher Student Association; Kaua‘i Police Department; Life’s Bridges Hawai‘i, Inc.; Mokihana Project, Kapa‘a and; Queen Liliuokalani Children’s Center.

Anyone who would like to attend the event should contact the Children’s Center at 245-1873 to confirm attendance so a head count can be taken for dinner.

For more information about the forum or to request an auxiliary aid, please contact Kaulukukui at 651-6637.
