Hanapepe baseball registration coming
Registration for the Hanapepe Youth Baseball Association’s upcoming season will be accepted on Nov. 17, 19, 24 and 25 at the Hanapepe Neighborhood Center patio between 4:30 and 6 p.m.
Players for the Shetland, Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony division ages 4 to 14 years old are invited to apply.
Players born on or before April 30, 2005, are eligible for the Hanapepe Shetland Division. Applicants must bring a copy of their medical card and birth certificate.

Po‘okela tryouts start today
Tryouts for the Po‘okela Girls Volleyball Club will be starting today and Nov. 17 at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School.
Under 12 girls will start at 5 p.m. Under 14 girls will start at 6:30 p.m.
Basic skills will be taught during a three-day camp format led by a USA Volleyball Olympian as well as local coaches and players.
Girls between the ages of 14 through 18 will have their tryouts on Nov. 16 and 23 at the Kapa‘a High School Gym between 5 to 7 p.m.
Club registration starts at 4:30 p.m. and a mandatory parents meeting starts at 6:15 p.m.

SKA hosts 1-day meet
Swim Kauai Aquatics will be hosting a one-day swim meet at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the YMCA Pool complex in Puhi. Sixty-four athletes, ranging in age from 4-17 years old, will be competing in the event. Spectactors and those interested in joining SKA are welcome. Wrestling officials needed
Kaua‘i’s wrestling community is working to meet the conditions set forth by the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation to have the league’s first ever high school wrestling season next school year 2009/2010. Needed are volunteers to become certified officials.
Coaches certifications will be attained through on-line courses and classes here on Kaua‘i.
Training for officials certifications will be conducted by the Hawai‘i Wrestling Officials Association at pre-season tournaments on O‘ahu.
Officials must be trained and certified this pre-season to be ready for the next school year.
