Nine Kaua‘i Senior Centers will come together Oct. 18 to host a craft fair at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All crafts are made by the seniors, including quilts, crocheted afghans, knitted tabis, Christmas trees and ornaments, bone pillows, hapi jackets, nylon scrubbers, lamps, pillows and more.
The event will also feature a full spread of food — from chicken hekka, chili and rice, spam musubi, manju, pretzels and baked goods.
The craft fair takes the place of the Senior Extravaganza, which will return in 2009 and rotate every other year with the craft fair; it also fills the shoes of many of the islandwide Senior Center Christmas craft fairs.
