Bridge clubs announce results

The Sunrise Club plays at 9 a.m. every Thursday (Open Game) at the Community Building in Princeville.

The club welcomes North Shore visitors and part-time vacationers.

Results for Thursday’s sanctioned event are: First, Colonel Bill and Betty Carroll; Second, Loring Harkness and Harry Handal.

The Sunset Club plays at 1 p.m. every Saturday (Open Game) at the Community Building in Princeville.

This long-established club is convenient and conducts friendly and competitive play for all island players.

Results for Saturday’s sanctioned event are: First, Dick Shen and Dileep Bal; Second, Judy and RC Smith.

The North Shore and Poalua Bridge Clubs meet every Thursday at Sun Village Club House behind Wilcox Memorial Hospital in Lihu‘e.

The game starts promptly at 9 a.m. and visitors are enthusiastically welcomed to play by club members. This is the oldest bridge club at Sun Village.

Members of the Ka Haku o Hawai‘i Bridge Club play the second and fourth Mondays of every month.

The game starts at 9 a.m. at Hanalei Bay Resort.

The Sept. 22 game results were the highest ever percentage recorded on Kaua‘i. Lenda Helser and Susan Worth achieved an 80 percent game. All other players were less than 50 percent.

Following the game the club hosted a luncheon at the Westin of Princeville to celebrate the safety of all players 16 years ago from Hurricane Iniki.
