A berth in the Ulupalakua Ranch Tournament of Champions is at stake this weekend when Kaua‘i’s junior golfers compete with other golfers from around the state at the 6th Junior Tour Series.
Tomorrow, the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association tournament will have the golfers teeing off from 10 a.m. at the Puakea Golf Course.
Age divisions and pars include: Boys 15 n 18: par 72, 6,955 yards; Boys 13 n 14: par 72, 6,474 yards; Girls 13 n 18 & Boys 11 n 12: par 72; 6,062; Girls 11 n 12: par 72, 5,226 yards; Girls 10 & under and Boys 10 & under: par 72, 4,437 yards.
Winners from this JTS tournament will be eligible to compete in the Ulupalakua Ranch Tournament of Champions Dec. 6-7 hosted by the Wailea Golf Club on Maui.
Participants in this JTS tournament will also earn points toward a spot on this year’s USA Hawai‘i-Japan Junior Cup team played Nov. 17-19 at the Waikoloa Beach Resort – King’s Course on the Big Island.
This UHJJC second annual international competition will have Hawai‘i’s top 12 boys from the 15-18 age division and the top eight girls from the 13-18 age division play against their contemporaries from Japan.
Prior to the international competition, amateur players are welcome to participate and play with junior team members in a Junior-Amateur tournament.
