The Garden Island’s annual football picks contest is back!
This week marks the official start of it, previewing for readers see how this works.
Every Monday, a ballot will be published in the paper with the games of the week. Those interested in playing will have two chances to win. Make your winning picks and submit your ballot no later than 5 p.m on Tuesday for your chance to win a spot as our guest panelists. You will be contacted on Wednesday to pick up your prize and have your picture taken for the panel. The panel winner will receive a $25 gift card from a local restaurant.
Have your ballot turned in no later than 5 p.m. on Friday for a chance to beat the panelists. Beat our picks and the weekly winner receives $50 cash.
Players must be at least 18 years old to enter and no photocopies of the ballots will be accepted. In the event of a tie, the player with the closest total points from the Monday Night Football game without going over, will decide the weekly winner.
It’s all in good fun — and yes, many have taken shots at me for predicting incorrectly. But you never know. People could have good days or bad. No one thought the Colts would lose to the Bears this past Sunday, right?
This contest coincides with the start of Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation football, which starts tonight (see related story) and will end the first week of December.
I’m looking forward to seeing all your picks. Look for the ballot on Monday.
