Director of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization, Sister Jenna, returns to Kaua‘i for “100 kites for Peace,” a ceremony honoring children who are victims of war.
At 4 p.m. today at Kealia Beach, join Sister Jenna to decorate a kite that will be sent to children in Russia-occupied Georgia as a message of love from other children around the world.
Kites have been distributed to schools and churches for students to decorate and send with messages of peace. Kites also are on sale this weekend at Papaya’s Natural Foods for a $5 donation.
A second event scheduled with Sister Jenna is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Malama Kaua‘i in Kilauea. Sister Jenna will present “Healing and Spiritual Activism.”
The Brahma Kumaris originated in India 71 years ago.
