On September 18 to 20 a gathering of women from throughout the Hawaii-Pacific Region will meet on Kaua‘i to ‘onipa‘a — stand firm — through prayer.
The word ‘onipa‘a means “to stand firm, be steadfast, immovable, established, resolute or determined.” The history of this statement dates back to the greatest adversity the islands have known — when Queen Lili‘uokalani was removed from her throne. She appealed to a higher authority believing she would be rescued. With all eyes on her, she encouraged her people — ‘onipa‘a.
Fern Nichols, founder and president of Moms In Touch International will be the keynote speaker of this conference. If interested in starting a group, or joining an existing group attend training sessions from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sept. 18 at Kaua‘i Marriott Resort and Beach Club. To register or for more information visit standfirmhawaii.com or call 652-1636.
