The Kapa‘a High School girls varsity volleyball team went 7-6 in the Seabury Invitational on Maui to take the first-place finish in the Silver division.
The Lady Warriors played three games on the first day in the Blue Pool, defeating Maui High School’s White team 25-16, 25-22 then suffered a loss to St. Anthony High School 20-25 and 20-25. Kapa‘a split its match with University High 25-20, 16-25.
Kapa‘a and Maui advanced to the Silver Pool along with King Kekaulike High School and Maui’s Blue team. There the Lady Warriors defeated Maui Blue 25-13 and 25-16 and split their next two games against King Kekaulike and Maui’s White.
That took them out of the pool and into the single elimination round where they were defeated by St. Anthony 25-22.
Hosts Seabury won the championship over St. Anthony 26-24.
Kapa‘a was led by middle blockers Tori Tuttle and Jondi Das. Megan Souza was a key all-around player, setting, serving and playing defense well.
