KALAHEO — Four Hanapepe firefighters put out a small brush fire in the vicinity of Kauai Coffee Co. headquarters yesterday afternoon, according to county spokeswoman Mary Daubert.
At 12:40 p.m. emergency dispatch announced the blaze, and it was extinguished within 15 minutes.
Daubert said that roughly 2,000 square feet were burned, with no injuries reported and no damages sustained by any buildings.
Kaua‘i County, along with the others in Hawai‘i, have been declared federal disaster areas because of ongoing drought. Dry conditions are often the cause of brush fires during the summer fire season.
