3 Hawai‘i surfers on tap at JBay

Bruce and Andy Irons and Fred Pattachia still have yet to surf in Round 4 of the Billabong Pro at Jeffreys Bay.

The competition ran 20 heats yesterday in the 4- to 6-foot surf and have 11 more to go today, with the finals following afterward.

Competition will resume today with Round 4, Heat 5, featuring Bruce Irons and the reigning world champion Mick Fanning.

Andy Irons will face France’s Jeremy Flores and C.J. Hobgood will surf against Pattachia.

Roy Powers defeated (12.34) defeated Australia’s Luke Stedmen (11.33) in his Round 3 heat, but was later defeated in Round 4 by Bede Durbidge in the first heat.
