Thousands of dollars of computer equipment was discovered missing Monday morning at Kapa‘a Middle School, according to a written statement from Kaua‘i Police Chief Darryl Perry.
According to a police report, burglars apparently entered the school library and computer room on Sunday night, causing more than $3,000 in damages and stealing approximately $17,000 worth of equipment.
“Because of the amount of equipment that was stolen, we are theorizing that there were multiple actors,” said Lt. Daniel Fort of the Kaua‘i Police Department’s property crimes division.
Fort said that the investigation into the incident, which likely occurred over the weekend, was ongoing.
Anyone with information about the incident should call Detective Carl Oliver at 241-1682, Police Dispatch at 241-1711, or Crime Stoppers at 241-1887.
