Royal Ballet Kaua‘i registering new students

Beginning Aug. 4 the “Dance Force One” program will offer an expanded version of the program launched by Jennifer and Mel Bell-Grey of Royal Ballet Kaua‘i Academy in March. The new program encompasses a wide range of dance activities, including hip hop, Spanish Flamenco styles, private classes and the Royal Ballet Kaua‘i Academy program. Over the last 10 years, RBKA has offered dance classes and multimedia shows to the Kaua‘i community.

Dance Force One and Royal Ballet Kauai Academy foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages students to do their best. The training enhances education through discipline, mental acuity, teamwork and camaraderie. Visit for information on the summer session.

“Dance Force One’s” year-round structured program offers an extra-curricular dance activity that will enhance a child’s life by building poise, confidence and good exercise habits. “Dance Force One” offers an extensive curriculum and culminates with an original theatrical production where students have the opportunity to dance and perform for their friends and family. Founders Jennifer and Mel Bell-Grey have over 10 years of teaching experience on Kaua‘i and over 30 years of combined training and experience in dance education, choreography and theatrical production.

This program has something to offer for all ages and abilities. Three years old is typically the youngest age and so far 82 was the oldest. There is a new teen group for beginning students who aspire to develop ballet skills.

The adult classes provide health benefits like stretching, balance and aerobic exercise. Improved posture is a benefit as well.

“Dance Force One” offers classes Monday through Saturday at three locations: Kapa‘a, Lihu‘e and Princeville. The extensive curriculum includes both group and private classes. For more information call 823-9588.
