The Kaua‘i Pony All-Stars suffered its first loss at the state tournament, but will advance to the semifinals today.
Hawai‘i Kai handed Kaua‘i its first loss of the tournament with a 6-4 edge, yesterday afternoon at the Boys & Girls Club in Hilo.
But despite the two-run edge, Hawai‘i Kai was eliminated from the tournament with a 1-2 record while Kaua‘i advances with a 2-1 record, said Bill O’Rear, sports editor of the Hawai‘i Tribune Herald, who forwarded the information.
Kaua‘i will meet Kalanianaole Athletic Club starting at 11:30 a.m. today. Earlier in the morning, Mililani will go up against Maui starting at 9 a.m.
The winners of both of these games will meet for the state championship starting at 2:30 p.m.
