A celebration of the life of Mayor Bryan Baptiste will be held tomorrow at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu‘e.
Visitation with the family is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a celebration of the mayor’s life to follow from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Aloha attire is suggested.
For those who plan to attend, they are encouraged to park at Vidinha Stadium.
Starting at 8 a.m., free shuttle service will be provided to and from the stadium and the convention hall every five minutes.
The Kaua‘i Bus will be operating Sunday to accommodate those who would like to ride the bus instead of driving their cars.
Buses will leave from Kekaha at the intersection of Elepaio and Akialoa roads at 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. and will arrive at the convention hall about an hour later, at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., respectively.
The buses will stop at regular stops along the route.
Buses will leave the courthouse in Hanalei at 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. and will arrive at the convention hall around 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., respectively.
The buses will also stop at regular stops along the route.
For return trips to Kekaha and Hanalei, buses will leave the convention hall at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Residents on the South Shore can catch the bus at the Koloa Neighborhood Center at 9:15 a.m. The bus will make regular stops along the way and is scheduled to arrive at the convention hall at 9:50 a.m.
The bus will leave for the South Shore at 1:30 p.m.
Residents of Kapahi and Wailua will be able to board a 9:25 a.m. shuttle at Mahelona Hospital or at any of the regular stops along the way, with arrival at the convention hall at 10:20 a.m.
The return trip to Kapahi and Wailua will leave the convention hall at 1:30 p.m.
A Lihu‘e Airport shuttle will be operating on Sunday to accommodate those flying in for the celebration.
Arriving passengers can board the shuttle curbside at the Hawaiian Airlines departure area every half hour between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
The shuttle will depart the convention hall at 10, 10:30 and 11 a.m. and 12:30, 1:15, 1:45, 2:35, 3:20 and 3:55 p.m.
Fares for the Kaua‘i Bus are $3 round-trip per adult and $1.50 for seniors and youth under the age of 18. Children six and under can ride free when accompanied by an adult.
The costs for the shuttle are $1 round-trip per adult and 50 cents for seniors and youths ages seven to 18.
