Kaua‘i Hospice 19th Annual Concert in the Sky

The annual concert and fundraiser for Kaua‘i Hospice, a hospice service provider for individuals and families facing a life-threatening illness, also glitters with Kaua‘i’s largest aerial fireworks show.

The event is today from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Vidinha Soccer Field in Lihu‘e. The Fourth of July celebration offers family fun, games, musical entertainment and food from top hotels and restaurants.

This year’s lineup of Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative-featured entertainers includes Jake Shimabukuro, the Big Island’s Ryan Hiraoka & RSP Crew, and Kaua‘i’s own Revival, The Takeoffs and Halau Hula o Leilani. In addition to the professionals, be sure to check out the amateurs performing in The Garden Island’s Superstars Kaua‘i talent competition, an American Idol-influenced song challenge.

In addition to the entertainment, there will be inflatables and water slides, face painting, massage, healing touch and a silent auction with over 200 biddable items.

Adult tickets are $12, keiki 6 to 12 are $5 and children under 5 are free. For more information, call 245-7277.

Over 500 volunteers including the Hawaii Firefighters Association donate their time for all setup, break down and logistics of the event.
