MANA — The Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands will host its annual Stars & Stripes Freedom Celebration from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Thursday at PMRF’s softball field.
The facility’s commanding officer, Capt. Aaron Cudnohufsky, will be on-hand to welcome everyone and speak to the importance of Independence Day.
Rock Candy will provide music from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., followed by Aloha Breeze with island and Hawaiian favorites from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A 12-minute fireworks display courtesy of Hawaii Explosives & Pyrotechnics Inc. will follow, with Hi Risk Faktor completing the evening’s entertainment from 8:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.
Food, games and craft booths will be available throughout the Home Depot-sponsored event, and admission and parking are free.
Entrance to the base will be available through the south gate at Kokole Point off of Kaumuali’i Highway.
All vehicles will be subject to search. No outside food or beverages, no pets, no weapons or personal fireworks are permitted.
