Kane‘ohe’s Dean Wilson dropped from 85th to 117th on the leaderboard yesterday and missed the cut of the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.
Wilson shot an 8-over 79 yesterday after a bad front nine.
Starting on the 10th tee, Wilson parred his first hole but then shot four straight bogeys before hitting another one on the 16th.
He made the turn at 5 over. He was able to save par on the first three holes of the back nine, but couldn’t stop from dropping further down the leaderboard posting three more bogeys.
Wilson finished at 13-over 155, 16 strokes off the leader, Stuart Appleby (139).
The cut was made at 149.
Wilson’s best finish so far came earlier in the year when he tied for 10th at the Players Championship.
He is currently ranked 84th on the PGA Tour’s money list.
