The Kong Lung Center located in the heart of Kilauea town on the corner of Kilauea Road and Keneke Street will host an inaugural community event from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The first in a series of community events to be held at the popular Kilauea shopping center, “Big Fun at Kong Lung” kicks off a series of festivities planned throughout the year.
The night’s festivities will include Gary Smiths’ visual presentation of the history of Kilauea, a special Hawaiian musical performance by Norman Ka‘awa Solomon and a hula show that includes a keiki performance.
The program will conclude with a community “talk story” led by Gary Pacheco and other familiar faces from the Kilauea area. Businesses at the Kong Lung Center will stay open late.
Come taste the huli huli chicken and traditional Portuguese sweet bread at Pau Hana Pizza or the fresh baked pastries at Kilauea Bakery. The folks at Calvary Chapel will have popcorn for sale to raise money for a teen missionary trip to Israel.
Throughout the night special guest artists will provide face painting for the keiki. There will also be a raffle. All the prizes donated by Kong Lung businesses.
